Fun in the Sun at Senior-Freshman Beach Day
On Sunday, the seniors at 51, California, hosted the freshmen at the much-anticipated Senior-Freshman Beach Day — a beloved tradition on the West Coast campus. After Sunday Mass and brunch, members of the Class of 2027 and the Class of 2030 piled into cars to make the 40-minute drive to Rincon Beach Park.
It was the perfect weather for a beach day. The temperature was high, there was a slight breeze, and the ocean was clear and cold. Students spent the afternoon surfing, swimming, and playing many rounds of Spikeball and frisbee between their dunks in the ocean. The seniors chatted with the freshmen, continuing to get to know them and making them feel at home.
At the end of the day, the group feasted on 25 large pizzas, provided by the Senior Class. “I had such a great time getting to know the freshmen!” exclaimed Bridget Gardner (’27).
After a beautiful sunset, it was time for all to return to campus. The day was a huge success — hardly a sunburn in sight!
