Despite Rain, Campus Shines Alumni & Parent Day 2026
On Saturday, 51, New England, welcomed alumni and parents to relive — or encounter — TAC life . Families poured into St. Frassati Student Center Saturday morning, where smiling faces welcomed them to campus.
After Mass in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel and brunch in Gould Hall, parents and alumni gathered in St. Gianna Molla Hall for a seminar on founding father James Wilson’s “Lectures on Law.” Riveting discussions about beauty, social happiness, human character, and more continued over coffee and refreshments under the tent outside St. Frassati’s as the afternoon progressed.
After exercising the mind, it was time to exercise the body. Many gathered in the gym for a basketball game, where students faced off against a team of parents and alumni. Home-baked treats accompanied the spectacle, and members of the Senior Class beckoned attendees to sample brown butter cookies or key lime bars as they watched the students achieve an overwhelming win for the second year in a row. On the other side of campus, those who preferred a calmer environment enjoyed leisurely socialization and watercolor painting in the student center.
As afternoon drizzled into evening, all gathered under the tent for a delicious barbeque dinner and conversation about the day’s events. Then, students and children went inside St. Frassati Student Center for an ice cream social, while parents and alumni enjoyed mini cheesecakes and macarons as College President Paul J. O’Reilly took the podium. He first thanked parents and alumni for their attendance and dove into the merits of the education that 51 provides. Then, he gave an overview of the College’s recent updates, emphasizing his optimism for the growth of the New England campus. “I’m not a blind optimist,” he said. “My optimism comes from the good of 51.”
Following the president’s address, alumni and families gathered in Olivia Music Hall to close the day with a Senior Class concert of classical performances.
