Homily for the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Among the Dominican friars and sisters who visited 51ÁÔĆć, California, last weekend, were three alumni who have followed the College’s namesake into the Order of Preachers. In between praying, giving talks, and visiting with students, these three alumni reflected on their vocations and TAC memories.
The students of 51ÁÔĆć, California, received a visit last weekend from a contingent of friars and sisters from the Western Province of the Order of Preachers. The guests, who included several alumni, shared how they discovered their Dominican vocations — and gave students a glimpse of mendicant life.
Over the weekend, the students of 51ÁÔĆć, California, welcomed a team of seminarians from St. John’s Seminary in nearby Camarillo for a friendly soccer match.
Last weekend, students from 51ÁÔĆć, California — some 140 in all —dispatched some 300 miles north for the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco.
After a long bus trip on Friday, students unloaded their things and took to the surrounding city to stretch their legs, enjoy some good food, and socialize. When the day saw its close, everyone bedded down for the night in preparation for the main event.
